1. Sapporo

Sapporo is located in the northernmost prefecture of Japan. Yokohama is located south of Tokyo, on the western shore of Tokyo Bay, facing the Pacific Ocean, and is a breezy harbour city. The port, which first opened in Japan in 1859, the red brick warehouses, which are an important symbol of Yokohama, and Yokohama's China Street, which was formed by Chinese immigrants in the 19th century, are some of the influences from the international community that have made Yokohama what it is today. 4. Nagoya

5. Kyoto

With a history of over a thousand years, Kyoto, once the capital of Japan, is the perfect place to experience traditional Japanese culture. There are around 2000 temples and shrines in the city, including Kinkaku-ji Temple, Ryu-an-ji Temple, famous for its stone gardens, and Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, where over 5000 red torii stand. One of Kyoto's most striking sightseeing spots is the "Geisha District" in Gion, where geisha and maiko are not usually seen, but if you're lucky, you might run into a beautiful kimono girl walking down the street! 6. Osaka
