A mother of all tests

A test is a way intended to establish the quality, performance, or reliability of something. In schools, tests are used to measure the students ability to comprehend, analyse and provide a solution to a problem.  In business and corporate world, tests in the form of KPIs are used as a valid justification for promotion and pay hike. In society, tests are the report cards of how solid and strong is the stability and connectivity amongst it's participants with the mother nature. For humankind, tests are the mirror of reflection on who we really are and what do we really hope to achieve with the limited resources that are distributed unevenly across the world.

The pandemic of covid-19 that swept across nations and contingents has revealed how fragile and powerless we are with the onslaught of this unseen enemy. With hundreds of lockdown being declared by different countries, it poses not just health, financial and social crisis to every single nation at global scale but also wrecks havoc to the wealth accumulation under system of capitalism as more bankruptcies are expected to be filed. 

The new normal situation caused by the pandemic will persist and find its way of sustainability. Meanwhile, the nature of opportunists and speculatists has silently rear its ugle head by architecting their strategy and plan post covid-19 when most of the attention is focused on controlling the transmission of the coronavirus and finding for its vaccine. The disease had indeed placed us in an uncomfortable position that stretches not only the financial strength at corporate level but also the mental strength at personal level during this turbulent time that is full of uncertainties in various aspects. 

The disease has open a window for the capital world to take a step back and have a clearer view of the preoccupation with material wealth in the name of progress and development. As the saying goes, health is wealth. Nevertheless, a global problem needs global solution and this only be achieved through a simultaneous global coordination and cooperation. 

Covid 19 is definitely is a test for individual, corporate community and nations. It is a mother of all test.
