WITH the worsening haze, thanks to our beloved neighbors, many revenue generating activities are jeopardized, and can affect our livelihood. But not many realize that you can still make an earnest living indoors, without leaving your home.

Here are top 4 things you can do at home, and still generate a modest income. 
1. Freelancing as a Linguist

Being a linguist involves jobs that includes translation (translating a source language to a target language), transcription (converting audio speech into text), subtitling (translating audio dialogues in source language into target language text), copy writing (creating text content for multiple purposes), editing (editing of translated, copy written text), proofreading (going through a translated / copy written text and detecting / correcting errors of text, grammar, art), and many more. 

Off course, you will have to be multi-lingual (able to speak, comprehend and write multiple languages) in order to be a linguist, but a PhD in language is not necessary for most of the work offered. In Malaysia, a few of the most demanded language pairs are English - Malay, Mandarin - Malay, Arabic - Malay, Tamil - Malay. With the boom of Korean pop culture in Malaysia, this will also include Korean - Malay.

Drop-Ship means you become a reseller of a product without having the need to keep stock or capital. You simply market the product through your channel/blog/audience/friends on your friendlist, sell at the original price, and buy them from the manufacturer at a discounted price (between 5% up to 15% of retail price). Once your customer makes payment to you at retail price, you then pay the manufacturer at the discounted price, and tell the manufacturer to ship the product to your customer directly. With that simple act, you gain profit!!

For those who likes the financial markets, investing and trading yourself online can be an option for consideration. Please do not do this blindly, and be sure to get the right guidance and knowledge beforehand. With the boom of social media, many blogs and marketing platforms have exploited such vast opportune by piggy-bagging their respective followers, and with the increase of viewers, comes the demand for content. With that, you can easily write about something that you know, or have experienced yourself, and offer such content to these platforms. Contents that are related to brands, products or services tends to do better compared to political related contents.
